Feet in the sand and head in the sound… A look back at the 15th edition of les Plages Electroniques

For three days and three nights of madness to the rhythm of electro music, the greatest artists and DJs of the moment set the mixing desk on fire during les Plages Electro 2022, a season that broke records with a total of 54 000 spectators!

WITH AN EXCEPTIONAL AND UNPRECEDENTED PROGRAM as well as 7 stages, including new ones such as the Solarium Stage by Konbini on the Rooftop of the Palace, the Sea Stage on a catamaran, and the Verrière Stage, to welcome festival-goers from all over world, the summer event that has become unmissable on the Côte d'Azur, now plays in the court of the major festivals of the national territory.

On August 5, 6 and 7, more than sixty DJs from around the world and artists from the region entertained and made the audience dance more than expected. To kick off these three days of unbridled celebration, Nice DJ Boris Way and young Toulon prodigy Kungs made the hearts of festival-goers vibrate with a sensational show. Then, Damso, Martin Garrix, Umbree, Makoto San, Giorgia Angiuli, Paul Kalkbrenner, Charlotte de Witte, Vladimir Cauchemar, Oboy, Lala&ce, Kiddy Smile, Folamour, Artbat, Birds of Minds, Bon Entendeur, Cut Killer and so many others, took over on the different stages in front of excited spectators. Finally, to end this 15th edition of les Plages Electro of Cannes in style, a season that was not afraid of delusions of grandeur, David Guetta, the most listened to French artist in the world, set the fire by proposing an explosive set and playing for the first time in France his remix of "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi.

Les Plages Electro 2022 was also 15 hours of after-shows with quality programming: Mr ID, Monolink, Parallels, Claire Breilly, Anfisa Latyago, Flim, Le Pedre, Feder and Header were present, as were many festival-goers who had stars in their eyes. The notoriety, quality and topicality of the artists programmed this year will have attracted a varied and international audience gathered around music in all its forms!

Always driven by this ambition to constantly renew itself and to offer an optimal welcome to these festival-goers from all over France and elsewhere, offers of ticket + transport + accommodation packages have notably been put in place with Worldia. Then, this year, the festival village was expanded by receiving prevention stands, a Safe Zone and lockers. There were also the great "classics" of this event which now shines beyond the Côte d'Azur such as a beauty corner, a merchandising corner and personalization of t-shirts/sumpers... in the color of les Plages Electro and a catering offer varied (burger, vegan, salty, sweet, etc.) in collaboration with local food trucks and restaurants. Traffic between the different stages has also been optimized and a real-time waste collection service and an evening captain program have been set up.

To confirm its place as the biggest beach party in France, festival-goers or rather sunbathers had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of aquatic fun with the Red Bull Open Water Party. A stage on the water, buoys, a crazy DJ set orchestrated by Cut Killer, so that the sea is transformed into a unique dance floor so that festival-goers can wiggle their hips in the water and on the hot sand and without forgetting to clean up behind you with the cleaning session.
