The 39th "Festival des Heures Musicales de Biot" promises a sumptuous programme!

The 39th "Festival des Heures Musicales de Biot" will take place from the 19th of May to the 23rd of June 2022. For this edition, marked by the love, the passion and the joy of being together again and soaking up the magic of classical music, Liliane Valsecchi, artistic director of the Festival and true conductor, offers 7 concerts in the heart of the Church of Biot.

Dear music lovers, this year, the chords of composer and pianist Johannes Brahms will be in the spotlight. To let yourself be lulled by them, internationally renowned artists and virtuosos will take you to the four corners of the world: London, New York, or Tokyo, while staying in Biot. And also, for this 2022 programme, youths will be at the rendez-vous with the intention of conducting a transmission action. We will have the pleasure to meet new artists on the occasion of this Festival as, Stella ALMONDO, young piano prodigy from the age of 15, Victor Julien LAFFERRIÈRE, cellist who received the first prize of the Queen Elizabeth International Musical Competition, the MODIGLIANI Quartet, a string quartet, or Jonathan FOURNEL, pianist and first laureate of the Queen Elizabeth Competition. To the great delight of Liliane and our ears, the "très grands chéris" (as she calls them) who honour the Musical Hours every year, will be back. Among them are the CAPUÇON brothers, Renaud and Gautier, respectively violinist and cellist, the BUNIATISHVILI sisters, Khatia and Gvantsa, who both excel in their careers as pianists, or Guillaume BELLOM, Gérard CAUSSÉ, Jérôme DUCROS, Selim MAZARI and Bertrand Chamayou.

For 37 years, over the years and with the same quality requirement, the Festival des Heures Musicales de Biot has become a must-see cultural event in the Alpes-Maritimes to make the public discover masterpieces of the classical repertoire. The 39th edition is part of a desire for continuity as well as openness and innovation for the delight of music lovers and enthusiasts.
